
Dr. Kohli is a distinguished physician leader with an established history of spearheading
healthcare initiatives in the United States and internationally. With 25 years of extensive
experience, he possesses considerable expertise in his leadership roles. He is acknowledged as
a global authority in digital health and complex healthcare projects, having substantial
proficiency in various healthcare environments. His focus is on utilizing health information
technology to enhance health and care delivery. Dr. Kohli is committed to transforming health
and care through data, technology, and digital innovation.
Dr. Kohli has had an extensive career serving healthcare organizations and stakeholders
globally, focusing on areas such as digital maturity, innovation, strategy, governance, change
management, and workforce development. He has held the position of Chief Medical
Information Officer (CMIO) at prestigious health systems, including Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi
(CCAD), Partners Harvard Medical International/Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), Advocate Aurora
Health, and Johns Hopkins.
He is the CEO and Founder of Beyond Horizon Health, a digital health advisory and consulting
firm that collaborates with clients on initiatives to improve patient care, organizational
outcomes, and impact. In addition, Dr. Kohli advises domestic and international health
technology startups, helping them deliver solutions to clinical settings.
Dr. Kohli is also the founder of Pul Alliance for Digital Health and Equity, a non-profit
organization committed to enhancing the impact of grassroots organizations in low-resource
settings through capacity building, program strengthening, and transformational initiatives.
Dr. Kohli is a Fellow and former Chairman of the Board of the Healthcare Information and
Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family
Physicians. He is also a member of the Technical Advisory Panel at Joint Commission
International (JCI), where he contributes to healthcare technology standards development.
Dr. Kohli holds dual board certifications in Clinical Informatics and Family Medicine. He earned
his MD from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and holds a MPH in International
Health and an MBA in Medical Services Management from Johns Hopkins University. In
addition, he completed a Patient Safety Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Kohli’s
postgraduate training includes Family Medicine at Rush University and Preventive Medicine at
the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University
